Tehran/New York (HRNW)- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has urged immediate action against the United States and Israel, describing the ongoing war as illegal during a key meeting with the UN Secretary-General. He stated that the conflict violates international law and that those responsible must be held accountable.
Araqchi called on the United Nations to take practical steps to restore peace and stability in the region, highlighting that civilian facilities—including schools, hospitals, and residential areas—have been targeted, constituting violations of international humanitarian law. He criticized the international community for demanding restraint from Iran while ignoring the real acts of aggression by the US and Israel, emphasizing the need for a fair and realistic global response.
Experts note that Iran’s stance aims to increase pressure on the UN for effective diplomatic intervention to address the conflict at an international level.
