Putin Warns US-Israel Conflict with Iran Could Shake Global Economy Like COVID-19

Moscow (HRNW)- Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran could disrupt the global economy in a manner similar to the COVID-19 pandemic. Addressing a large gathering of Russian industrialists and business leaders in Moscow, Putin said the war is already causing significant damage to international production and logistics systems, affecting key sectors such as oil, gas, metals, and fertilizers.

He compared the current situation to the global slowdown experienced during the coronavirus outbreak and cautioned that if the conflict persists, supply chains could face further disruptions, increasing worldwide economic uncertainty. Putin urged the government and energy companies to adopt prudent fiscal policies instead of taking temporary advantage of rising oil prices, emphasizing that global markets can shift abruptly.

The Russian president also highlighted the importance of national sovereignty in protecting fundamental interests across all sectors, including the economy, transport, logistics, and the financial system. He noted that despite sanctions and challenges, Russia has maintained economic stability, but the country must remain strong and united in the face of changing global conditions.
