Moscow (HRNW)- Russia has stated that Iran has the right to defend itself amid ongoing military tensions in the region, according to media reports.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova expressed concern over the escalating military operations and warned that further escalation against Iran could increase the risk of a wider regional conflict.
The ministry emphasized that every country has the right to protect its sovereignty and security, and called on all parties to reduce tensions and pursue a diplomatic solution instead of military confrontation.
Russia and Iran have strengthened their relations in recent years, particularly in the areas of defense cooperation, energy projects, and economic partnerships.
