Karachi (HRNW)- The Government of Sindh has announced the formation of a high-level Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the shooting incident outside the United States Consulate General Karachi in Karachi.
According to an official statement, the JIT will impartially review all aspects of the incident and determine the circumstances, causes, and responsibility. The Sindh government expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives during clashes between protesters and security personnel. Officials stated that protesters allegedly breached the external security fence of the consulate and engaged in vandalism, resulting in six deaths and several injuries.
The statement emphasized that while citizens have a democratic and constitutional right to protest, maintaining peace is a shared responsibility. Authorities urged the public to avoid vandalism, violence, and taking the law into their own hands, and to express their views only through peaceful and lawful means.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) has deployed heavy contingents of mobile vigilance teams across various parts of Karachi in response to the current security situation. These teams are patrolling sensitive installations, key locations, and major highways to prevent any untoward incidents.
Pakistan Rangers clarified that no attempts to disturb law and order will be tolerated and warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in violence or unlawful activities.
