Islamabad (HRNW)- Mohsin Naqvi met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad and briefed him on his participation in the four-country Interior Ministers’ meeting held in Rome, Italy.
According to details, interior ministers from Italy, Spain, Greece, and Pakistan attended the meeting. Mohsin Naqvi informed the Prime Minister that participating countries agreed in principle to facilitate the issuance of legal work permits for Pakistani citizens at the earliest.
Member states also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in reducing illegal migration to European countries by 47 percent within a year and acknowledged steps taken to combat human trafficking.
During the briefing, the Interior Minister stated that Poland and Italy are expected to abolish visa requirements for Pakistani diplomatic and official passport holders soon. He further mentioned that a comprehensive plan would be presented to the European Union to enhance Pakistan’s immigration management and border security capacity.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the efforts of the Interior Minister. The meeting also included a discussion on the internal security situation and overall national affairs.
