Karachi (HRNW)- Traffic on both sides of the under-construction Malir Expressway bridge over the Malir River in Karachi will remain closed today from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
According to a statement issued by the SSP Office Traffic District Malir, construction work on the Malir River Bridge located on the National Highway will be carried out on Sunday, March 1, during which shuttering installed on the structure will be removed.
The spokesperson for the Traffic District Malir said that inbound and outbound routes connected to the Malir Expressway bridge within the limits of the Malir City Traffic Section will remain closed during these hours. Authorities have apologized for the inconvenience caused to commuters.
Alternative routes have been arranged. Citizens traveling toward the city can take a U-turn at the Malir River Bridge on Shara-e-Bhutto from Quaidabad. Meanwhile, traffic heading toward the National Highway may use the route from Maluk Hotel under the Malir River Bridge toward Steel Mills.
Traffic police have advised citizens to stay updated through the helpline 1915 and listen to FM 88.6 for real-time traffic information to avoid inconvenience.
