Karachi (HRNW) – A horrific multi-vehicle accident on the Hyderabad Motorway (M9) near Ansari Bridge has claimed at least 13 lives and left several others critically injured. According to preliminary reports, the tragedy unfolded when a freight truck overturned, triggering a high-speed collision involving four cars and a passenger bus. The impact was so severe that several vehicles were completely destroyed, and rescue workers reported a gruesome scene with human remains scattered across the highway. Authorities fear the death toll may rise further given the critical condition of many survivors.
Immediately following the crash, teams from Rescue 1122, Chhipa, and Edhi rushed to the site to provide emergency medical aid. Rescuers worked to extricate trapped passengers from the mangled wreckage before shifting them to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment. Traffic on the Super Highway was temporarily suspended to allow for the clearance operation, and relevant authorities have launched a formal investigation into the cause of the accident. This disaster once again highlights the ongoing dangers of overspeeding and the lack of adequate safety measures on the country’s major motorways.
