US Says India’s Stubborn Stance Led to Collapse of Trade Deal Washington Signs Pacts with Other Asian States

Washington (HRNW) – US Commerce Secretary Howard Latnick has said that the main reason for the failure of the trade deal with India was the stubbornness of the Indian leadership. According to him, there was a lack of seriousness during negotiations, due to which no meaningful progress could be achieved.

The US Commerce Secretary further revealed that direct contact could not be established between US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that Modi was under pressure, nervous, and avoided making a call.

According to reports, the United States has instead signed trade agreements with Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, a development that experts are calling a major diplomatic and economic setback for India.
