Seoul (HRNW)- South Korea has strongly condemned the Houthi targeting of civilian and economic facilities in southern Saudi Arabia and called on the Iran-linked group to immediately halt such attacks.
In a statement, South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure cannot be accepted or justified under any circumstances.
The ministry also condemned actions that threaten the safe and free movement of maritime vessels, emphasizing the importance of secure navigation through the region’s key waterways.
South Korea expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia following injuries suffered by several civilians in the attack and stressed the need to protect civilians and ensure the safety of maritime navigation.
The statement comes amid escalating tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, while security concerns surrounding major regional maritime routes, including the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Strait of Hormuz, continue to draw international attention.
