Karachi (HRNW) Participants of a Minority Rights March in Karachi presented 11 demands, including an end to forced religious conversions and stronger protection of the rights of religious minorities.
The participants expressed deep concern over the increasing incidents of violence, discrimination and inequality against minority communities in the country.
The marchers called for effective protection of the fundamental, constitutional and human rights of minorities, along with the implementation of laws safeguarding religious freedom and equality.
They also demanded an end to forced religious conversions and called for greater protection and equal opportunities for minority communities in society.
The participants urged the government and relevant institutions to take effective measures to prevent violence and discriminatory practices against minorities and to take legal action against those responsible.
