Islamabad (HRNW)President of the All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance, Malik Shehzad Awan, has said that the nationwide strike by goods transporters has entered its fifth consecutive day.

In a video statement, Malik Shehzad Awan said negotiations with the federal and provincial governments have completely failed.

He stated that the peaceful strike would continue indefinitely until the transporters’ demands are accepted.

“We will not rely on any assurances given by the federal or provincial governments,” Malik Shehzad Awan said.

He added that transporters across Pakistan were participating in the nationwide strike and that the protest would continue until their demands were formally accepted and the relevant government notification was issued.

The transporters’ leadership has urged the government to take practical steps to resolve the dispute and end the nationwide strike.
