Rawalpindi (HRNW) — A tragic incident occurred in the Dhok Chaudhrian area of Rawalpindi, where a man who had reportedly arrived in Pakistan from Qatar allegedly entered a house and forcibly took his cousin away in front of her mother. The mother later died, reportedly after suffering severe shock over the incident.
According to complainant Yaqub Khan, both of his daughters are divorced and live at their parents’ home with their children. Yaqub Khan had gone to Azad Kashmir with his elder daughter and grandchildren to attend a wedding, while his wife, Ruqia Bibi, and younger daughter remained at home.
According to the family, Ruqia Bibi called her husband and informed him that her nephew Fayyaz, who lives in Qatar and was visiting Pakistan at the time, had allegedly entered the house and forcibly taken the younger daughter away in front of her.
Yaqub Khan said his wife was extremely distressed during the phone call and asked him to return home immediately. While he was travelling back from Azad Kashmir, a relative reportedly called him and informed him that Ruqia Bibi had died.
According to the complainant, his wife could not bear the shock of allegedly seeing her daughter being taken away and reportedly died as a result of the trauma.
Police have registered a case against Fayyaz on Yaqub Khan’s complaint in connection with the alleged abduction and the death of the woman. Further investigation is underway.
