Islamabad (HRNW)- PTI founding leader Akbar S. Babar has criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers for allegedly ignoring a call to gather outside the Islamabad High Court, describing the situation as political theatre.
In a statement, Akbar S. Babar alleged that individuals who have taken control of the party were staging political drama and said that, in his view, these “guest actors” had little connection with addressing the problems faced by PTI prisoners.
He said that, on one hand, PTI leaders claim that party founder Imran Khan is being kept in solitary confinement, while on the other hand, they allegedly claim that instructions are being issued from Adiala Jail for PTI lawmakers to demonstrate outside the Islamabad High Court to facilitate the hearing of cases.
Akbar S. Babar further claimed that the majority of PTI lawmakers subsequently ignored the call to protest outside the Islamabad High Court.
He described the situation as evidence of growing internal contradictions within the party and said he believed the political influence of what he called the party’s “guest actors” was nearing its end.
