Islamabad (HRNW): The Pakistan Mini Mazda Association and Goods Transport Association have announced a nationwide wheel-jam strike from August 8 against frequent changes in petroleum product prices and what they described as excessive fines.
Central President of the Pakistan Mini Mazda Association Tanveer Jatt said that transport operations across the country would be suspended from August 8. He urged the government to address transporters’ demands before the strike begins.
He warned that a nationwide transport shutdown could negatively affect imports, exports and commercial activities in the country.
Transporters stated that repeated fluctuations in petroleum prices, rising operational costs and heavy penalties have created serious challenges for the transport sector.
