Tehran (HRNW)- Mohsen Rezaei, military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, has warned the United States that if the naval blockade of Iranian ports continues, US naval forces and military personnel in the region could face serious consequences.
According to foreign media reports, Mohsen Rezaei said in a statement posted on the social media platform X that Iran would no longer tolerate the US naval blockade and urged Washington to reconsider its current policy.
He said that if the blockade continues, the US Navy and its forces would have to bear the consequences, although he did not provide further details regarding the warning.
Mohsen Rezaei also stated that Iran would not permit any alternative maritime route through the Strait of Hormuz, insisting that no sea corridor other than the route recognized by Iran would be accepted in the strategically important waterway.
The statement comes after the United States reimposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports in July.
According to the report, the renewed US measures followed the failure to implement a memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the United States in June, reportedly due to disagreements over the management and control of the Strait of Hormuz.
Political and defense analysts note that the Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy corridors, carrying significant volumes of global crude oil and natural gas exports. Any escalation of tensions in the region could have a direct impact on international energy markets, maritime trade, and regional security.
