Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW)- On 2 June 2026, the World Health Organization (WHO) stressed the importance of ensuring that artificial intelligence (AI) is used responsibly within healthcare systems.
WHO officials emphasized that transparency, ethical safeguards, and human oversight are essential to maximize the benefits of AI while protecting patient rights, privacy, and healthcare quality. The agency called for international cooperation in establishing global standards for AI in health services.
