Karachi (HRNW) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration collected a total of Rs7 million in fines for the national exchequer during May 2026 after taking action against various immigration and maritime law violations at Karachi’s ports.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the enforcement actions were carried out at Karachi Seaport and Port Muhammad Bin Qasim. At Karachi Seaport, action was taken against 12 crew members and individuals associated with different vessels. Those penalized included three Bangladeshi nationals from MT Al Tarf, two Pakistani nationals and two Filipino nationals from CV Albert-P, one Syrian national from MT Asana, one Myanmar national from Marine Xane, and three Greek superintendents from M.V. Sen Remo. The total fines imposed at Karachi Seaport amounted to Rs6 million.
In a separate operation at Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, two Indian crew members aboard the vessel JBU Shelde were fined a total of Rs1 million.
The FIA spokesperson stated that enforcement action was taken against six ships during the reporting period, with a total of 14 crew members and individuals penalized. The combined fines collected from both ports reached Rs7 million.
According to the spokesperson, this is the first time the FIA has deposited such a substantial amount into the national exchequer through monthly enforcement operations at Karachi’s ports, highlighting the agency’s efforts to ensure compliance with maritime security and immigration regulations.
