KARACHI (HRNW): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration wing successfully intercepted and arrested a passenger attempting to travel to Thailand using a forged immigration exit stamp on his passport.
According to official details, the accused, identified as Imad Umar, was stopped during the screening process. Upon inspection, officials discovered a counterfeit immigration exit stamp on his passport. A subsequent verification through the Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) confirmed that there was no existing record of the suspect’s legal departure from the country.
During the initial interrogation, the passenger confessed to obtaining the fake exit stamp through an agent in exchange for a significant sum of money. Following the discovery, the passenger was immediately offloaded from the flight and transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further legal proceedings and an investigation into the smuggling network involved.
The FIA has intensified its monitoring at international airports to curb illegal migration and the use of forged documents, warning citizens against engaging with unauthorized agents for travel documentation.
