LAHORE (HRNW): In a significant operation, the Lahore Police has successfully dismantled a specialized gang of criminals who posed as domestic construction workers to facilitate burglaries. The Soo-e-Asal Police Post traced and apprehended the suspects from the Kahna area following a series of reported thefts.
According to SP Model Town, Shehrbano Naqvi, the arrests were made using advanced surveillance technology and forensic mapping. The suspects, identified as Gulfraz and Zubair, operated by gaining employment as masons and laborers during the day. This allowed them to conduct reconnaissance, identifying entry and exit points and the location of valuables within the households they were supposedly renovating.
The high-ranking police official revealed that the gang would execute their plan late at night, returning to the surveyed homes to steal high-value items. During the raid, police recovered:
-
Two motorcycles (stolen)
-
Water pumps and electrical silver wiring
-
Over Rs 200,000 in cash
-
Two pistols and three mobile phones
SP Shehrbano Naqvi stated that a formal case has been registered against the suspects and further investigations are underway to determine if they are linked to other unsolved cases in the Model Town division. “The protection of the lives and property of our citizens remains our top priority,” she added.
