Washington (HRNW) – Donald Trump has reportedly decided to implement “Plan B” if his initial strategy of limited military strikes against Iran fails to produce the desired outcome.
According to a report by The New York Times, President Trump has made what sources describe as an irrevocable decision to pursue regime change in Iran under an alternative plan if Tehran does not show flexibility.
The report claims that if limited attacks under “Plan A” fail to pressure Iran into accepting U.S. demands—particularly regarding its nuclear program—a broader military campaign could be launched later this year. The alleged objective of such a campaign would be to weaken or eliminate the authority of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with the current political system.
Sources familiar with the administration’s internal discussions reportedly suggest that an initial strike could target Revolutionary Guard facilities, Iranian military command and control centers, ballistic missile installations, or nuclear sites.
This development comes as another round of talks between U.S. and Iranian representatives is expected to take place in Geneva on Thursday. Meanwhile, the United States has significantly increased its military presence in the Middle East, a move analysts describe as preparation for a possible escalation.
