Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and AVCC Arrest Two Kidnappers Involved in Ransom Case — Hostage Safely Recovered

Karachi (HRNW) — On the directives of Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Headquarters, Rangers and AVCC Police conducted a joint intelligence-based operation in PIB Colony and arrested two suspects involved in a high-profile kidnapping for ransom case, identified as Sajjad Usman alias Babu and Hadad Ahmed.

According to the spokesperson, a Vigo vehicle bearing a fake government number plate and several mobile phones were recovered from the suspects’ possession.

CCTV footage shows that on February 17, 2026, the arrested men, along with their accomplices, kidnapped a businessman from Azizabad at gunpoint and later transported the victim to an undisclosed location in the same fake-number-plated Vigo vehicle.

The suspects then demanded a ransom of Rs. 10 million from the victim’s family through threatening international phone calls. An FIR of the incident had already been registered at Azizabad Police Station.

Upon receiving the report, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and AVCC Police launched a joint technical operation and successfully rescued the abducted businessman safely from Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

During the operation, the kidnappers opened fire and attempted to flee, but two suspects were apprehended after a brief chase in PIB Colony.

Raids are ongoing to arrest the remaining members of the gang.
The arrested suspects, along with the Vigo vehicle and recovered items, have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
