High Court Issues Notices to FIA and Passport Authorities Over Citizen Offloaded from Bahrain-Bound Flight

Lahore (HRNW)- The Lahore High Court has taken up a petition filed by a citizen, Mehran Kabir, challenging the decision by authorities to offload him from a flight to Bahrain despite holding a valid work visa. The case was heard by Mr. Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh.

Representing the petitioner, Advocate Ahad Amir Awan argued that Mehran Kabir is employed in Bahrain and had returned to Pakistan on leave. On October 21, 2025, he arrived at Faisalabad Airport to board his return flight. However, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials prevented him from traveling, informing him that his name had been placed on the Passport Control List (PCL).

The petition maintains that the inclusion of the petitioner’s name on the PCL was done without any substantial reason or legal justification, terming the act unfair and a violation of basic rights. The court has been requested to direct the relevant authorities to immediately remove the petitioner’s name from the list so he can resume his employment in Bahrain.

After hearing the initial arguments, the court issued formal notices to the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports and the FIA, seeking a detailed response at the next hearing.
