Karachi (HRNW)- The Sindh government has announced a new Peoples Bus Service route connecting Larkana, Qambar, and Shahdadkot, with operations scheduled to begin on September 18.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department chaired by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, where officials briefed the minister on ongoing public transport projects and plans to expand modern travel facilities across the province.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said the new route would provide safer, more affordable, and improved transport facilities to residents of Larkana, Qambar, Shahdadkot, and surrounding areas. He said the Sindh government was continuing to expand the Peoples Bus Service to additional cities and districts.
The minister directed officials to ensure that the new service starts on schedule and that necessary passenger facilities are provided. The meeting also reviewed the Green Line and Orange Line BRT services.
According to Sharjeel Inam Memon, Green Line ridership has reached 88,000, while more than 11,000 passengers now use the Orange Line BRT daily.
The meeting also reviewed progress on the distribution of Pink Scooties to eligible women in Mirpurkhas. The senior minister said the scooters would soon be distributed, describing women’s access to transport as a key priority for the provincial government.
Officials also discussed routes for additional double-decker buses and electric vehicles (EVs), with the minister directing authorities to finalize route planning promptly.
Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, Sindh Mass Transit Authority Managing Director Behzad Memon, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
