Rawalpindi (HRNW)- The bail plea of Zeeshan Arshad, an accused in the murder case of digital designer Hina Javed, has been accepted for hearing by a court in Rawalpindi.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Naseer Ahmed heard the application and issued notices to the complainant party and the Station House Officer (SHO). The court adjourned further proceedings on the bail plea until September 19.
During an earlier hearing, the court had expressed displeasure after two separate bail applications were filed by different lawyers representing the same accused. The court questioned how two separate Wakalatnamas authorizing legal representation could have been biometrically verified from Adiala Jail and how the accused could have authorized two different lawyers while in custody.
The court subsequently sought a report from Adiala Jail authorities regarding the matter.
During the latest hearing, both lawyers representing Zeeshan Arshad, Hamza Abbasi and Junaid Hassan, appeared before the court with their respective Wakalatnamas. Both documents carried the jail’s biometric verification and the accused’s signed authorization.
The court has now issued a notice to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail, seeking a report and clarification regarding the separate authorizations submitted on behalf of the accused.
