KARACHI (HRNW)- Crude oil prices continued to rise in the global market, with both Brent and U.S. crude recording gains.
According to media reports, the price of Brent crude increased by 1.37%, bringing it to $97.60 per barrel.
Meanwhile, the price of U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also rose by 1.40%, reaching $92.76 per barrel.
The continued rise in international oil prices could put additional pressure on petroleum product prices and inflation in oil-importing countries, including Pakistan.
Human Rights Angle
Higher petroleum prices can directly affect transportation costs, household budgets and the prices of essential commodities. Policymakers should consider the impact of fuel-price increases on vulnerable and low-income households.
