Sindh High Court: Hearing Set for August 17 Over Alleged Encroachments at Karachi Hockey Association Ground

Karachi (HRNW)The Sindh High Court has approved an application for an urgent hearing concerning alleged encroachments and commercial activities at the Karachi Hockey Association ground near NIPA Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

The court has fixed the hearing for August 17, 2026, and issued notices to the parties concerned for the next hearing.

The petition states that the KDA had sub-leased the ground in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 5 to the Karachi Hockey Association in 1987.

According to the petition, parties that obtained new registrations in 2023, along with Legend Arena, have allegedly started commercial activities on the premises.

The petitioner argued that government land cannot be used for commercial or other purposes without approval from the KDA or the Karachi Hockey Federation.

The court has summoned the relevant parties and will hear the matter on August 17.
