Islamabad (HRNW) – Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of collaborating with an action committee to incite unrest and violence during recent protests.
Speaking to the media, Rana Sanaullah alleged that PPP workers, along with members of the action committee, created disturbances at a public intersection, set tires on fire, and opened fire on police officers when law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene.
He claimed that the authorities possess the names of individuals allegedly involved in the incident and stated that legal action would be taken against those found responsible following the investigation.
In a separate statement, Rana Sanaullah also accused the PPP leadership of presenting contradictory claims regarding the alleged attack on one of its Members of the National Assembly (MNA).
According to him, the PPP initially claimed that the MNA had survived an assassination attempt. However, when asked to undergo a medical examination, the party allegedly changed its version, first claiming the MNA had been punched and later stating that no punch had landed and that only verbal abuse had occurred.
Rana Sanaullah alleged that the PPP leadership misled the public by making inconsistent statements about the incident.
As of the filing of this report, the Pakistan Peoples Party has not issued an official response to these allegations.
