Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has once again hinted at ongoing negotiations with Iran while accusing Tehran of sending contradictory messages regarding diplomatic contacts.
According to the World News Agency, President Trump said the US naval blockade against Iran would continue until Tehran either reaches an agreement with Washington or completely disarms.
In a lengthy statement posted on the social media platform Truth Social, the US President reiterated that Iran will never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons.
Trump described the Iranian leadership as “duplicitous,” claiming that Iran privately requests meetings and negotiations while publicly denying any direct talks with the United States and stating that it is only in contact with Oman.
He alleged that Iranian officials seek negotiations behind the scenes but later deny their existence after meetings are arranged.
The US President also rejected Iran’s claim of having full control over the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that the strategic waterway is effectively under the control of the US Navy.
Trump further claimed that the Strait of Hormuz has become an American “Wall of Steel” and said that nothing destined for Iran can pass through without US authorization.
He added that, regardless of Iran’s public statements, discussions are taking place to resolve what he described as a long-standing issue created by Tehran over the past several decades.
Concluding his remarks, President Trump again declared that Iran would never obtain nuclear weapons.
Trump’s statement came after Iranian officials denied reports of direct negotiations with the United States, maintaining that discussions are currently taking place only with Oman on specific issues.
