Abbottabad (HRNW) – Abbottabad Police have arrested a three-member group allegedly involved in a marriage-related fraud scheme, following a complaint filed by a local resident.
According to police, Mirpur Police took into custody a woman and her two sons after the complainant, Muhammad Riaz, alleged that the suspects deceived him under the pretext of marriage and fled with PKR 500,000 in cash and gold jewelry.
Police stated that preliminary investigations indicate that cases of a similar nature have also been registered against the arrested individuals at other police stations within the district.
Authorities further said that raids are being conducted at multiple locations to apprehend other alleged members of the network. A criminal case has been registered against the suspects under charges of fraud, cheating, and other relevant provisions of the law, while the investigation continues.
