Nabatieh (HRNW) – Two people were killed and several others injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA). The strikes reportedly hit the town of Chokin, where the town’s mayor was also among the injured. The attack destroyed several residential buildings and caused extensive damage across a neighborhood.
Earlier in the day, Israeli warplanes also carried out strikes on the town of Adsheit in the Nabatieh district, while a drone strike targeted a vehicle on the Kafr Jouz-Nabatieh road, causing material damage. In addition, artillery shelling resumed on the outskirts of Farun, Ghandouriya, and Wadi al-Saluqi, with reports of heavy machine gun fire targeting areas near Ramiyah and Qoza. The latest escalation has raised fresh concerns about instability along the Lebanon-Israel border.
