Washington (HRNW) – US President Donald Trump has made controversial remarks about American naval operations involving Iranian shipping, saying that the US Navy is acting “like pirates” in its blockade and seizure of vessels linked to Iran. According to media reports, Trump made the comments after US forces reportedly intercepted and seized a ship along with its cargo and oil shipment.
In his remarks, Trump said, “We took over the ship, we took over the cargo, we took over the oil. This is a very profitable business. We are like pirates. We are not playing games.” Reports indicate that several vessels departing Iranian ports, including container ships and tankers bound for Asian waters, have been intercepted by US forces in recent weeks, further heightening tensions in regional maritime trade routes.
