Karachi (HRNW) — Funeral prayers were offered at Police Headquarters Garden for Police Constable Owais Tanoli, who was martyred while performing his duty in Karachi’s Korangi district.
The funeral prayer was attended by Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho, Additional IG Karachi, Sindh Assembly member Farooq Awan, DIG South, DIG East, SSPs East, Korangi and City, SP Headquarters, as well as the martyr’s family members and relatives.
According to Sindh Police, Constable Owais Tanoli was critically injured during an encounter with criminal elements on Saturday. He was immediately shifted to hospital for medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries.
IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho paid tribute to the bravery and dedication of the martyred constable and expressed his heartfelt condolences to his family.
The IG Sindh said Constable Owais Tanoli had kept alive the proud tradition of Sindh Police by sacrificing his life while performing his duty.
He said Sindh Police personnel were continuing to perform their duties with courage and determination in operations against criminal elements, and that every possible measure would continue to be taken to maintain law and order.
Javed Alam Odho said Sindh Police would never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs, adding that the families of police martyrs were the responsibility of the department and an integral part of the Sindh Police family.
