Karachi (HRNW) — A case has been registered against Maryam, a relative of a senior police officer, and her daughter following recommendations made in an inquiry into an alleged assault on neighbours in Defence.
According to police, a case was registered at Darakshan Police Station on the complaint of the affected woman, Noor-ul-Ain, under sections relating to damaging property, creating a disturbance and vandalism.
In her complaint, Noor-ul-Ain stated that Maryam called her downstairs, but when she did not come, Maryam allegedly kicked the door of their house. She alleged that when they came outside, Maryam and her daughter assaulted them and took her mobile phone.
The complainant further alleged that police personnel were also present with Maryam and her daughter at the time of the incident. She said that after she called 15 for assistance, police personnel allegedly broke open the door of their house, entered the premises and took their mobile phones.
Police said that after completion of the inquiry, Maryam was found responsible, following which a case was registered against her. Further legal proceedings are underway.
