Islamabad (HRNW) — Japan will provide a $16.4 million grant to support flood protection measures in Sindh, with an agreement for the grant signed between the two sides.
According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the grant aims to strengthen flood protection infrastructure in Sindh and enhance the province’s capacity to deal with natural disasters.
The project is expected to help reduce flood risks, protect vulnerable areas and improve preparedness for potential flooding in the future.

Flooding has repeatedly caused loss of life, damage to homes and agricultural land, and disruption of livelihoods in different parts of Sindh. Strengthening flood protection infrastructure can play an important role in protecting communities and reducing future losses.
