According to the circulating list, Major General (R) Dr. Azhar Mahmood Kayani has been appointed as Adviser on Health to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, while Lieutenant General (R) Nazir Ahmad Butt has been appointed Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The list also claims that Lieutenant General Muhammad Amir has been appointed Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Major General Farhat Abbasi as ambassador to Brunei, Major General Akhtar Jail Rao to Bosnia, Major General Sajjad Ali Khan to Jordan, and Vice Admiral Athar Mukhtar to the Maldives.
It further mentions appointments of military or retired military officers to various key positions, including Secretary Defence, Chairman NADRA, Chairman WAPDA, Chairman NTC, Chairman of public service commissions, senior positions at NDMA and SUPARCO, and leadership roles at PIA and PTCL.
