Islamabad (HRNW)- The Supreme Court of Pakistan has fixed the appeal filed by former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in the Punjab Assembly illegal recruitment case for hearing on August 3.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Hashim Kakar will hear the appeal.
The case relates to proceedings in which the trial court had acquitted Pervez Elahi when the prosecution sought his physical remand. However, the Sessions Court later declared the acquittal null and void, a decision that was subsequently upheld by the Lahore High Court.
Chaudhry Pervez Elahi then challenged the High Court’s decision by filing an appeal before the Supreme Court, which is now scheduled for hearing on August 3.
