Rawalakot (HRNW) – Spokesperson of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police, SSP Khawar Ali Shaukat, has stated that armed attackers have taken positions in various buildings in Rawalakot and are targeting security forces. He said that no leniency will be shown towards elements involved in creating unrest.
Addressing a press conference, SSP Khawar Ali Shaukat said that security operations against the armed attackers are underway. He stated that one Rangers personnel was martyred during the attacks, while police have arrested several suspected elements and recovered modern weapons from their possession.
The AJK Police spokesperson said that investigations are being conducted into the alleged links of the suspects and claimed that the network behind these elements has connections elsewhere.
SSP Khawar Ali Shaukat further alleged that hostile elements are spreading negative propaganda on social media and attempting to disturb peace in Azad Kashmir.
He emphasized that law enforcement agencies will not allow anyone to disrupt peace and security in the region and will continue taking measures to protect citizens and maintain law and order.
