Amman/Kuwait City (HRNW)- Jordan and Kuwait have claimed that their air defense systems successfully intercepted several missiles and drones launched by Iran, while the Iranian military and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the intended targets were US military installations in both countries.
According to foreign news agencies, the Jordanian Armed Forces said three missiles launched by Iran on Wednesday morning were destroyed in the air, while one missile landed in an uninhabited area.
The Jordanian military also said its air defense system shot down six Iranian drones overnight, adding that no casualties or material damage were reported.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti military announced that its air defense systems responded to hostile drone threats during the night and neutralized them. However, officials did not specify the intended targets of the drones.
In separate statements, Iran’s military and the Revolutionary Guards claimed they had targeted US military assets in Jordan and Kuwait, describing the strikes as a response to recent US military activities.
However, Jordan, Kuwait and the United States have not confirmed Iran’s claims, while independent sources have also not verified the reported attacks or any resulting damage.
Defense analysts say air defense systems across the Gulf region remain on high alert due to escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, raising concerns over regional security and global energy supplies.
