Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has once again threatened Iran with strong military action in a statement released on his social media platform, Truth Social.
President Trump warned Iran against attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz, saying that if Iran uses missiles, rockets, drones, or any other weapon against vessels in the strategic waterway, the United States will target Iranian facilities, including bridges and power plants near Tehran.
The latest warning follows a statement issued a day earlier in which Trump said the US would respond immediately and forcefully if Iran attempted to obstruct commercial shipping, disrupt navigation, or make the Strait of Hormuz unsafe.
In another recent statement, President Trump also said that the United States could target the mountain at Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility, where he claimed advanced uranium enrichment centrifuges had been relocated.
Trump emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes and pledged that the United States would take every possible measure to ensure freedom of navigation and the security of international shipping.
The Strait of Hormuz is a vital global energy corridor through which a significant share of the world’s oil supplies passes. Ongoing tensions surrounding the waterway have contributed to increased uncertainty in global energy markets and rising oil prices.
