KARACHI (HRNW) – The Literary Art and Culture Forum of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET), in collaboration with the Directorate of Students Affairs, organized a vibrant Youth Mushaira that captivated both poetry enthusiasts and students.
Chancellor SSUET, Akbar Ali Khan, serving as the Patron-in-Chief of the event, expressed his appreciation for the poetic performances and underscored the significance of literary activities in cultivating a healthy and open-minded atmosphere. “Literary activities must continue,” he remarked, emphasizing their vital role in broadening perspectives and enriching the cultural fabric of society. The Youth Mushaira not only reflected the beauty of poetry but also provided a platform for young voices to share their creativity, fostering a strong sense of community among the students.
General Secretary of the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association (AMUOBA), Dr. Jaffar Nazir Usmani, urged students to prioritize their studies and professional careers, emphasizing the importance of focusing on academic pursuits even amidst engaging in co-curricular activities.
The renowned poet Wajih Sani graced the event, adding an air of elegance to the occasion. The audience were spellbound by the beautiful poetry of the acclaimed poets Naeem Sameer, Ibrahim Khalil, Dr. Waleej Haider, and Rakhshinda Khan, whose evocative verses resonated deeply with attendees, showcasing the depth and richness of Urdu literature. Director of Students’ Affairs, Engr. Hassan Zaki presented selected works from the notable poets. Additionally, student poets such as Ayesha Jahanzaib, Ahmed Rizwan, Ammar Jaffery, Faizan Shaikh, Asim Malik, Sara Mansoor, Nargis Fatima, and others also showcased their talents.
Convenor of the Literary Art and Culture Forum, Tariq Sabzwari, had a wonderful interaction with the youth, appreciating their engagement in literary activities. “It’s great to see young poets showcasing their talent and creativity through inspirational poetry. Their unique vocabulary, thought processes, and presentation styles can truly make a significant impact, he added. Eventually Tariq Sabzwari enthralled the audience with his beautiful poetry which added to the richness of the event.
