Former US Official Says Pakistan Holds Key Diplomatic Role, Trusted by President Trump

Washington/Islamabad (HRNW)- Former US Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs General (retd) Mark Comet has said that Pakistan enjoys the trust of US President Donald Trump and is fully capable of playing an important diplomatic role in the region. Speaking on regional affairs, he noted that Pakistan has the ability to effectively mediate in the US-Iran conflict and has successfully performed such a role in the past. He added that Pakistan undertook mediation responsibilities in a noble and constructive manner. General Comet also highlighted that even before the current conflict, there was a strong sense of harmony and trust between Field Marshal Asim Munir and President Trump, which helped further strengthen ties between Pakistan and the United States. According to the former senior official, this close relationship has proved beneficial for both nations.
