Karachi (HRNW) – Three suspects arrested in connection with the murder case of young doctor Aakash were killed in an alleged police encounter in Karachi.
According to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU), a raid was conducted in Umar Brohi Goth, Gulshan-e-Maymar, based on information provided by the arrested suspects regarding their alleged absconding accomplices. Police said that during the operation, the suspects opened fire on the police team.
The SIU stated that one police officer was injured during the exchange of fire, while the three arrested suspects in the Dr. Aakash murder case were allegedly hit by bullets fired by their own accomplices and died.
It is pertinent to mention that on 13 July 2026, young Hindu doctor Aakash was killed in firing by armed robbers outside a bank in Karachi’s Clifton area. According to police, the suspects fled after allegedly looting Rs. 2.5 million out of Rs. 5 million being carried by the victim.
Police officials said that further legal proceedings, evidence collection, and investigation into the incident are underway.
