Washington (HRNW)- A US official has said that the Pentagon is considering suspending military contracts with Spain amid growing tensions within NATO. According to media reports citing Reuters in Washington, an internal Pentagon email reportedly discussed options for taking punitive measures against certain NATO allies, including the possible suspension of military contracts with Spain. The official stated that these measures were linked to concerns over NATO’s support for US operations during the Iran conflict. The email allegedly also referenced limitations imposed by some allies on US access to airspace during the war. Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official said the document outlined potential actions against what it described as “difficult” NATO members holding key positions within the alliance. In response, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro stated that Spain does not act based on leaked emails but follows official diplomatic channels and documents.
