Beirut (HRNW)- Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has stated that Lebanon will not sign any agreement that does not include the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory. According to media reports in Beirut, the Lebanese Prime Minister rejected proposals that would allow Israel to maintain a buffer zone in southern Lebanon, emphasizing that such arrangements are unacceptable. He said Lebanon cannot accept a situation where displaced citizens are prevented from returning to their towns and villages. Nawaf Salam also called on the administration of US President Donald Trump to pressure Israel to reduce its demands and end its occupation. He further stated that Lebanon has taken significant steps, including tightening control over weapons, restricting Hezbollah’s military activities, and reinforcing the state’s monopoly on arms, adding that a country cannot function with two separate armies.
