Gwadar (HRNW)– The federal government has approved 50 MW of additional power for Gwadar, along with a project to convert the Gwadar Port desalination plant to solar energy, marking a historic step towards resolving the city’s energy crisis and boosting development.

Balochistan Chief Minister’s Coordinator for Water and Power and Chairman Gwadar Port, Noor-ul-Haq Baloch, said that the provision of 50 MW will pave the way for increased industrial activity and investment in Gwadar. A technical team from the Energy Department will soon visit to identify a suitable site for the new power plant. He emphasized that a comprehensive water and electricity strategy has been prepared, and its full implementation will ensure uninterrupted electricity and clean water supply, accelerating Gwadar’s growth.
