Hyderabad (HRNW)- The Regional Tax Office (RTO) Hyderabad, a field office of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), has launched an enforcement operation to ensure compliance with the digital invoicing system and sales tax laws. During the operation, around 30 freight vehicles were stopped for failing to carry required digital invoices and related documents.
Officials said some taxpayers registered under the digital invoicing system were transporting goods without issuing mandatory digital invoices. The enforcement teams calculated the applicable tax and allowed consignments to proceed after payment of the tax or presentation of valid digital invoices.
Following the operation, Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Adil Ahmed Siddiqui and Hyderabad Tax Bar Association President SM Jafri met Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue RTO Hyderabad Sajjad Akbar Khan. He appreciated the enforcement efforts and emphasized the need to facilitate businesses in understanding and implementing the new digital invoicing requirements.
Sajjad Akbar Khan said further enforcement action could be temporarily halted if the Chamber of Commerce and Tax Bar Association assured effective voluntary compliance by the business community. He said the initiative aims to facilitate taxpayers while promoting a transparent, documented and law-abiding tax system.
