Riyadh (HRNW)- The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has strongly condemned Iran’s reported attacks on US-linked facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, describing the strikes on civilian infrastructure as war crimes.
According to the International News Agency, GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Badawi denounced Iran’s recent attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, saying that deliberately targeting civilian facilities and infrastructure is a serious violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
Jassim Mohammed Al-Badawi stated that the attacks have dangerously escalated regional tensions and pose a major threat to peace and stability in the Gulf. He said that deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure and public facilities fall under the category of war crimes.
The GCC Secretary-General urged the international community not to remain silent over the attacks and called for Iran to be held accountable under international law.
He also demanded an international investigation into the incidents and called for legal action against those found responsible.
Expressing full solidarity with the member states, Al-Badawi reaffirmed that the Gulf Cooperation Council stands with Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan in safeguarding their security and sovereignty.
