US and Iran Agree to Pause Military Operations, Doha Talks on Strait of Hormuz Scheduled

Washington (HRNW)- The United States and Iran have reportedly agreed to temporarily halt military operations against each other, while high-level talks are expected to take place in Doha, Qatar, tomorrow in an effort to resolve disputes related to the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a U.S. media report, both sides have agreed to suspend military attacks for the time being, while technical-level discussions will continue to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

Reports further state that the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding during talks held in Switzerland last week. However, tensions reportedly resurfaced in recent days due to differing interpretations of provisions concerning maritime traffic and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

The upcoming discussions in Doha are expected to focus on reducing tensions and reaching a mutually acceptable framework for maritime security in the region.
