Karachi (HRNW)- Serious allegations of alleged irregularities related to drug cases and recovery have been made against some Karachi Police personnel and officers. According to sources and various claims, questions are being raised regarding the recovery of drugs and their alleged misuse during a case registered on April 7, 2026 at Mominabad Police Station in District West.
With reference to case number 182/26, it is said that initially the police had claimed to recover drugs from a vehicle, however, different details about the quantity recovered came to light in the records registered later, on which reservations are now being expressed. Similarly, some unconfirmed claims are also being made that allegations of involvement in illegal activities have been made later regarding the large quantity of drugs recovered, however, these claims could not be independently verified.
According to sources, instructions are being given in meetings at the level of IG Sindh and Additional IG Karachi to make the operations against drug dealers more effective, while some quarters are also raising questions about the internal accountability system of the police. No official stand has been taken by the police authorities on these allegations, however, it is being suggested that a high-level inquiry into the matter may be conducted so that the facts can be revealed.
According to security experts, transparency and strict monitoring in anti-drug operations are very important to prevent any kind of irregularity.
