Trump Claims US Navy Seized Iranian Ship ‘Tosca’ in Strait of Hormuz

Washington (HRNW)- US President Donald Trump has claimed that the US Navy has seized an Iranian cargo ship named Tosca in the Strait of Hormuz during a maritime interception.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said the approximately 900-foot-long vessel attempted to cross a US naval blockade but was stopped by the Navy.

According to the President, the guided missile destroyer USS Spruance intercepted the ship in the Gulf of Oman and issued warnings, which the Iranian crew allegedly ignored.

He further claimed that US forces disabled the vessel by targeting its engine room, bringing it to a halt, and that the ship is now in the custody of US Marines.

Trump added that the Tosca is listed under US Treasury sanctions due to alleged past illegal activities, and authorities are currently inspecting its cargo.

The claim comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with no immediate independent confirmation of the incident.
